We just got back from a nice little 3-day vacay. My parents rented a big lakehouse and we decided to tag along, injecting a little preschool flavor into what was otherwise teenage paradise for my brother and sister and their 7 friends. We hung out, ate barbecque, and played music by the water. Jared rafted behind a ski boat and smoothed out his farmer's tan. We swung from a rope off a two-story deck into the water and swam in the man-made lake, even though I was completely SURE it was full of alligators. (There were alligator gar, anyway). We also took the kids to the wildlife park for an African Safari which was really just a tour of dead grass and deer. On our way out we finally got some action out of a few zebras and ostriches, and we left happy, the car filled with food pellets and flies. Overall it was a pleasant break from reality, and I'm a little sad to be home, which is always a good sign that you've just made a memory.

And WHY didn't you invite me?? :) By the way... I FINALLY met Mauricio and almost met his wife. Chad forgot to introduce me to her. They go to the same church building as us. Cool, huh? And thanks for complimenting my baby girl. The ultimate compliment by FAR!!
